Based on the regulations in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the point in calculating age is in the Hijri calendar, as it is the official calendar of the Kingdom.

Since the girl has reached the age of eighteen (18) years according to the Hijri calendar, she has reached the legal age for marriage, and there is nothing preventing her marriage contract from being legally documented.

Article Nine of the Personal Status Law clearly states: “It is prohibited to document a marriage contract for anyone under (eighteen) years of age”.

This text sets a dividing line, which is the completion of the age of eighteen. Since the girl in your question has completed this age according to the approved Hijri calendar, she does not fall under this prohibition.

The case requiring special court permission is only for those under the age of eighteen. Where the article is completed

Ninth: “The court may authorize the marriage of anyone less than that, whether male or female, if he is an adult, after verifying his interest in this marriage”.

Article 3 of the Personal Status Law detailed the conditions and procedures for this exceptional permission, which do not apply if the age requirement has been met.

The personal status system and the regulations issued pursuant to it are derived from the provisions of Islamic Sharia, and are intended to regulate these matters in a manner that achieves the interest and wards off corruption.

The system did not come in violation of Sharia law, but rather came to control practice in accordance with the objectives of Sharia law in preserving rights.

Accordingly, what is legally permissible according to these regulations is considered the legally approved application within the Kingdom.

In short, as long as the girl is 18 years old in the Hijri calendar, her age in the Gregorian calendar does not matter in order to complete the marriage procedures, and her marriage is considered permissible from a legal standpoint

The legitimacy considered a system, and the contract can be notarized directly with the marriage registrar without the need to refer to the court.
